Betsey

Rosie is a beautiful girl. Her head and ears are light gray that fades to white on her back. She is a former Irvine Shelter resident who had to leave because of her special needs. She has a bad back like a lot of us humans. It makes her hop funny, but she has no trouble getting around. She needs to be a house rabbit on an absorbent surface because she sometimes misses the litter box, then sits down in her puddle. She has a voracious appetite, so she needs a home where the humans will keep her slim and trim. She also needs a yard or patio for getting exercise that will keep her back healthy. Because she’s slower than other rabbits, she is easy to catch. She loves being petted and will sit with you as long as you want.

The Bunny Bunch Sponsorship Programs

The Bunny Bunch has hundreds of rabbits in foster homes waiting for a home of their own. Each rabbit needs living quarters, hay, pellets, veggies and litter for everyday living. Some need vet care and all need to be spayed or neutered. How can you help?

Sponsor a Foster Rabbit
Most of the rabbits we rescue come from high kill shelters. We are no kill, so once a rabbit comes to us it will have a new beginning. Once the rabbit comes into our care, we need to provide it with food, living quarters, hay, pellets, etc. Some rabbits are with us for a few months, others for years. Your donation of $25.00 or more will help us care for a foster rabbit until it goes to a forever home. Click here to sponsor a foster rabbit.

Sponsor a Shelter Rabbit

When we rescue a rabbit from a shelter the cost is anywhere from $30.00 to $50.00. Your donation of $50.00 or more will save the life of a rabbit and go towards providing for its foster care, once we have an open space in our foster program. Click here to sponsor a shelter rabbit.

Sponsor an Angel Bunny
We also rescue sick or injured rabbits. Some simply need short term medical care and nursing back to health, while others need ongoing medical care and may stay with us for the rest of their lives. Your donation of $100.00 or more will help us cover medical costs for an Angel Bunny. Click here to sponsor an Angel Bunny.

By sponsoring a foster, angel or shelter bunny, you will know that you have made a difference. We will send you a framed color photo and brief written history of the rabbit you have sponsored. Betsey's Story

Just as Sunny (see photo above) was recovering from his surgery from having his leg amputated, we came across another rabbit needing the same surgery.

Betsy was one of the rabbits from the Garden Grove rescue. She was found by one of our volunteers at the park where we are rescuing the rabbits.

Upon X-ray we found that her leg has been shattered. We think it was from someone trying to trap the rabbits. In fact this was the third rabbit with a leg injury that we had found within two weeks. She too had her leg amputated and has recovered nicely from her surgery. She is being spayed next week, and two weeks after that we will be looking for a home for her. She is a sweet, shyish little girl. Please email Caroline if you are interested in Betsey, or call 909-591-7200.
